Janie May is a songwriter, recording artist and classically trained dancer originally from Brooklyn, NY.

Brooklyn-born and driven by soul, Janie May writes songs about what happens after you survive, when you choose yourself and don’t look back.

Rooted in pop soul with influences from R&B, blues, and country storytelling, her music explores identity, resilience, and emotional freedom. Drawing comparisons to the emotional depth of Amy Winehouse and the strength of Gloria Gaynor, Janie pairs incisive lyricism with raw vocal power.

“So her soul crawled out from its hiding place...”
